Benefits of Cheriton Tennis Club Membership
Cheriton Tennis Club aims to make tennis available to everybody and there will be opportunities for pay and play tennis, and tennis coaching for non-members too. However, we hope you will be keen to join the friendly, active club as there are many benefits to becoming a member of Cheriton Tennis Club, including:
Cheriton Tennis Club is a non-profit-making club and your membership fees will not only go towards maintaining the courts and club hut, running the club activities, and expanding tennis in the community, but will also help towards the club's sinking fund (enabling resurfacing of the courts when needed in future years).
Cheriton Tennis Club is affiliated to the LTA, providing the club with various benefits including professional advice on the construction of the new facilities, access to LTA loans and grants (which we have been lucky enough to secure), entries into Hampshire Leagues for club teams, annual Wimbledon Ticket allocation, LTA club resources and county office support. An LTA affiliation fee of £7.20 per adult and £2.40 per junior is paid by the club to the LTA; this is included within members' annual subscription rates.
Table Tennis Club membership includes access to the Clubhouse only (not the tennis courts), which houses 1 table tennis table with playback facility, club bats and balls, and kitchen facilities. See Table Tennis Club page for more details. Children can only join with at least 1 adult, due to security issues with issuing clubhouse keys. Full Tennis Club membership includes free membership of the Table Tennis Club.
The Netball club did run an adult and school coaching course in 2007, but sadly there was not enough adult interest to keep this going. If you are interested in playing netball at Cheriton, and particularly if you and perhaps your friends are interested in co-ordinating with the netball coach to reinigorate Cheriton Netball, do please get in touch with the club secretary (email: secretary@cheritontennisclub.co.uk or tel: 01962 771661).
