Our Funding Partners & Sponsors
We are extremely grateful to the generosity of our funding partners. Funds for the works have come from a number of organisations:
The Veolia Environmental Trust, formerly The Onyx Environmental Trust, has provided a grant of £35,000 under the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme. Provided to help revitalise this rural sports environement, this was the first grant to be awarded towards the new tennis and netball courts and club hut, and Veolia Environmental Trust has made the community's much longed for facility a reality.
The Foundation for Sports and the Arts has provided £20,500 to build the mini-tennis kids zone court area. This invaluable addition will enable an active mini tennis club to develop for the under 10s, and a range of mini tennis coaching and competition programmes to be introduced.
The LTA and Sport England provided £20,000 in grant and £28,000 as loan, to enable the court to be floodlit and as a contribution to the mini tennis kids zone.
The Local Network Fund provided a grant to help develop the mini tennis activities at the new facilities by providing the equipment necessary for mini tennis, a practice wall for independent as well as group play by children, and funds for a series of free introductory mini tennis coaching sessions by a licensed coach and open to any children in the community.
Awards for All (Big Lottery Fund) provided a grant of £7,000 to help develop the new table tennis, netball and mini tennis clubs and provide start-up equipment and introductory coaching sessions.
Waitrose, Petersfield Branch, kindly donated £3,000 towards this local community sports project, helping us complete our funding so that the works could begin.
Hampshire County Council granted a final top-up contribution of £5,000 to the tennis courts project, enabling the club to sign the final contracts with the court contractors for works to start.
The Hampshire Playing Fields Association kindly donated £2,500 towards the project to help revitalise sport on this rural recreation ground.
Cheriton Tennis Club are also very grateful to the Friends of Cheriton Primary School who raised £6,000 towards the new facilities.
We are always seeking business sponsors to help support performance coaching for talented juniors, tournaments, and other developments for the club. Please contact the club's Secretary if you are interested in discussing sponsorship benefits.
